If you’re in need of some extra holiday cheer this season, a park in south Louisville might just have the answer. And just like those Zoom calls we all enjoy, you can probably just stay in your jammies. For a second year, Winter Woods Spectacular has returned to Iroquois Park. Nestled among the trees along Iroquois’ Rundill Road, there’s a half-mile of glittery holiday themes and scenes set to holiday music. Some of the highlights include a magical ice castle, Santa’s workshop, a holiday garden and a penguin choir. But like everything else in 2020, the coronavirus has affected this event as well. Well, not to fear, the organizers have made some changes taking a page from the park’s other big event in October. “We modified plans for Jack O’Lantern Spectacular this year from a walking event to a drive-thru, which proved a magical experience can happen from anywhere — even your vehicle,” said Brooke Pardue, CEO of the Louisville Parks Foundation. “We’ve created a safe way for everyone to enjoy this holiday favorite.” Winter Woods Spectacular.
