I am driving to the PNW from DC within the next 2 months to take care of some family members who will be recovering from lengthy hospital stays due to COVID. I know this is not the ideal time of year to drive this route, but I do not have much of a choice; flying is not possible for a variety of reasons. Should I take I-70 through Denver, or would I-80 be an easier pull through Nebraska and Wyoming? My thought is that I-80 would probably be easier in terms of the grade, but I-70 might be better maintained in the winter months with all the CO ski towns along the interstate. I’ll be driving a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee and towing a 2017 24 foot Starcraft AR-One travel trailer, if that impacts your recommendation at all. Thanks for reading and for your help!
